There are two methods to check the status. You can do that by either logging in on the website of the Aadhaar card or via your mobile phone using the message system.
Once you have successfully registered with your Aadhaar card, you will receive a confirmation message on your mobile phone. Once the confirmation acknowledgement has been received by you, then you can easily check your online status as well as download the Aadhaar card to print a copy. All this can be done without you waiting for the postal service to deliver your Aadhaar card. This is possible because the duplicate card has the same validity as the original card anywhere across the country.

You need to possess the details like your registered mobile number, name and enrollment number to check your Aadhaar card status online. By simply making an account on the website, check your status using the above mentioned details.
The acknowledgement slip that you receive, will have two important details, namely, 14 digit enrolment number and the date and time of enrolment. Hence, for checking the Aadhaar card Status via phone, please send an SMS “UID STATUS<14 digits enrollment number>” (e.g. UID STATUS 11111111111111) to 51969.
